Facial Aesthetics

WHAT ARE FACIAL AESTHETICS?

Facial aesthetics (facial rejuvenation treatments) are non-operative restorative treatments designed to rejuvenate and revitalise the skin, endowing a bright, youthful and even-looking complexion.

There is a broad range of facial rejuvenation treatments available to combat the signs of ageing, carefully sculpt the face, refine existing features, and treat textural skin damage.

WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT TYPES OF FACIAL AESTHETIC TREATMENTS?

  • BOTULINUM TOXIN

Botulinum toxin, commonly called Botox®/Dysport®/Xeomin®, is a biological neurotoxin produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. Neurotoxins can significantly enhance naturally beautiful features when administered in small, concentrated doses. Neurotoxin injections are carefully and safely administered by an expert medical professional and work by paralysing muscles or obstructing nerve signals.

    Duration: 10-30 minutes

Side effects: Bruising at the site of the injection, swelling or pain.

Botox®/Dysport®/XeominBOTOX® corrects wrinkles and helps achieve a relaxed, youthful facial expression.

  • FILLERS

Fillers are known to increase volume in certain hollow regions of the face. Soft tissue fillers, commonly known as facial or dermal fillers, are made to reverse noticeable signs of ageing and tissue damage. These types of fillers are meant to plump out areas of the skin, similar to how bread rises in the oven. As a result, dermal fillers increase volume in hollow regions of the facial skin, which lose density primarily due to the natural process of ageing.

Duration: Approximately ten to twenty minutes, depending on the areas that require treatment.

Side effects: Bruising, tenderness, swelling and redness.

  • BIOSTIMULATION

Biostimulators like Sculptra® and Profhilo® are a skin rejuvenation treatments that works from within the skin’s structure, enabling the seamless production of collagen to fortify and restore healthy-looking skin. Biostimulation is an authentic process that empowers the skin to rejuvenate itself through its natural healing effects. When administered, treatment aims to firm, plump, hydrate, and strengthen the skin.

    Duration: 20-45 minutes

Side effects: Pain, bruising and swelling at the treated site.

  • PRP TREATMENTS

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections are a natural, biological process that involves removing, purifying, and utilising the patient's own blood (platelets) to treat skin damage. First, a small sample of blood is extracted from the arm and placed into a centrifuge to divide the platelets from other blood particles. Afterwards, the concentrated platelets are safely administered to the injured part of the skin. This is done vie microneedling or mesotherapy.

    Duration: 60-90 minutes

Side effects: Swelling and bruising over the region, irritation or redness of the skin, changes to skin tone and dry or tight skin.

  • BIOREJUVENATION

Biorejuvenation, also known as a skin booster, rejuvenates and revitalises the skin. These treatments are designed to penetrate the skin’s exterior barrier and hydrate it from the inside, which helps smooth and brighten the skin. Biorejuvenation contains organic hyaluronic acid and other essentials.

    Duration: 20-30 minutes

Side effects: Tenderness, swelling, bruising, redness and discomfort over the treated areas.
